Steampunk Victoriana Fair Costume Parade

Will be held on the Little Big Stage (Riverside). Time to be advised.

Free Registration on the day, next to the stage.

You’ll be asked to provide your preferred name, where you are from and a little bit about your costume – inspiration, construction, meaning.

Your costume must be in keeping with a Steampunk and/or Victoriana theme and must adhere to the Steampunk Costume and Weapons Terms and Conditions.

Categories:  Adult, Child, Group (max 4 per group) & Judges choice

Prizes presented at the conclusion of the parade.

Costume and Weapons Terms and Conditions

The Steampunk Victoriana Fair is a family friendly event, and we are committed to creating and maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. Council staff reserve the right to inspect all costumes, props, weapons or any other cosplay items at any time. If your costume, weapon, prop, or any other cosplay item is considered to be unsuitable or unsafe for any reason you may be asked to change or leave the venue.  Council staff will contact Police NSW for any unlawful carrying or use of firearms or weapons of any kind.

COSTUMES AND PROPS

  1. Goulburn Mulwaree Council does not accept any responsibility for any loss or damages from any cause.
  2. Costumes and props must not include projectiles, pyrotechnics, or hazardous materials of any sort. Costumes should not shed materials (such as glitter, fluids, etc.) that may create an unsafe walking surface.
  3. Costumes and props made from metal, glass, or any other materials that may be deemed dangerous may not be permitted.
  4. Masks, helmets and any other facial coverings may be worn, but must be easily removable upon request.
  5. Costumes must be suitable for viewing by children and adults of all ages. Nudity, partial nudity, culturally insensitive, or obscene or offensive costumes will not be permitted.

FIREARMS AND PROJECTILE WEAPONS

The following types of firearms are NOT permitted:

  • Imitation or replica firearms that mimic the actions, appearance and construction of an actual working weapon
  • Actual or decommissioned firearms
  • Firearms capable of firing any projectile or charge of any kind, including BB or Airsoft, replica-type gel blasters, sports weapons, replica, cap gun, militaria, and collectors pieces.
  • Laser pointers.
  • All forms of ammunition and projectiles of any kind.

The following types of firearms are permitted:

  • Toy firearms with a bright orange or red identifying tip.
  • Bows and crossbows that are incapable of firing any projectiles.
  • Toy firearms must be incapable of firing a projectile or charge of any kind. This includes but is not limited to Nerf or foam darts, arrows or bolts, powder caps, explosive or power charges, any form of liquid etc.
  • Steampunk Victoriana Fair Staff will have red tape available and may require tape to be attached to the tip of any toy firearms that are not already coloured as such.

OTHER WEAPONS

The following types of weapons are NOT permitted:

  • Metal weapons of any kind, including but not limited to knives, swords, chains, ninja stars etc.
  • Baseball bats or any other form of bat.
  • Axes, shovels and tools of any kind, including any implement or object capable of cutting, slicing or puncturing.

The following types of weapons are permitted:

  • Toy weapons that are incapable of being mistaken for real weapons and are incapable of causing any harm or injury.
  • Lightsabers with polycarbonate or wooden blades.

Any items purchased at Steampunk Victoriana Fair 2025 that may be in violation of these terms and conditions must remain inside their original packaging at all times while still inside the venue and adjacent car parks.
